The Fleming Island Church of Christ hosted a
weekend Gospel Meeting on July 11, 12 and 13th. I spoke on Friday night the
11th and Jim Bell of the Julington Creek Church of Christ spoke on Saturday
the 12th. On that Sunday morning, I spoke at the Middleburg Church of Christ
during their worship service, as their evangelist Joe Shane spoke for us as
part of our gospel meeting.
The theme of the meeting was Unity, from John
17:21 "that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You;
that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me".
The meeting went very well as we had many attend from other congregations in
the area. Brothers Bell and Shane did a wonderful job presenting the simple
truth of God's word in regards to how we are to be one with each other and one
with the Lord. I am so thankful for their participation in our meeting and I
pray the Lord was glorified in our efforts.
The home bible study with the group of 9 went
really well. One of our members set the whole study up which was attended very
well over the four weeks. I am so encouraged when surrounded by groups of God
loving individuals who simply desire to learn and study the word of God.
Including those 9, this makes 16 individuals I have conducted this "How to
study the bible" study with. I look forward to more opportunities to utilize
this particular study. It is based on what Berry Kercheville taught in a
Gospel Meeting I attended a couple years ago in Plant City, and the teachings
found in a book "The Joy of Bible Discovery".
I also spoke on July 16th at the Central
(Ocala) church of Christ as part of their summer series. I enjoyed my visit
there and the opportunity to meet with more Christians.
Linda, the lady who has left the Catholic
church, is still attending consistently. She is still struggling, but is
keeping on keeping on. Keep praying for her as she is seeking for some answers
of life's most difficult questions and trying to find her place and God's
truth in the middle of it all.
Thank you once again for your thoughts,
prayers, financial support and words of encouragement. May the God of our
salvation be glorified in our efforts to spread His gospel to the lost world
around us.
