Have You Ever Wondered Why There Are So Many Denominational Bodies And Why Believers In Christ Are Not All United?

If you have been disturbed by this question, you are not alone.

Many have been known to point a finger at God .....

In prayer ..... Religious leaders have been heard to thank God for the various divisions in religion so men can approach God in their own way, the way they want to.

But their prayer contradicts the will of God, who wants men to approach Him HIS way. Notice what the Bible has to say: Jeremiah 10:23 Proverbs 14:12 Matthew 7:13,14 Matthew 7:21-23 Mark 7:6-9

Christ prayed for unity of all believers - John 17:18-23

Who Is It That Believes On Christ Through The Word Of The Apostles?

Is it not those in every generation who read the New Testament? Jesus prayed that we may be one. This contradicts the philosophy of men, who thank God for all religious bodes and divisions.

The Keys To Unity ~ Seven "Ones" Ephesians 4:3-6

"Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;  one Lord, one  faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."

One Body One Spirit One Hope One Lord
One Faith One Baptism One God

Who Is Responsible For Religious Division? God Or man?

When a person says that we all need to have the "church of our choice" because we cannot understand the Bible alike, he is pointing a finger at God as the cause of denominationalism, and is casting a shadow upon the Holy Scriptures.

If honest men can not understand what the scriptures say, then the Bible itself is a book of lies!

CAN THE SCRIPTURES BE UNDERSTOOD?

If the scriptures are not capable of being understood, there are only two possible reasons:

1 - God did not want us to understand it;

2 - God was not able to give us the scriptures in such a way as they could be understood!

Read the passage above again for your answer

How do the following passages tell us whether we can all understand the bible alike or not?

Ephesians 5:17 - Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

2 Timothy 2:15 - Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

John 8:32 - And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Genesis 18:14 - Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

Matthew 19:26 - But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Luke 1:37 - For with God nothing will be impossible.

Then why is it that men do not understand the Bible alike?

When men do not understand the bible alike, will we blame God or Man?

It is man who is guilty of:

Twisting the scriptures - 2 Peter 3:16 - As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.

Not rightly dividing the word of truth - 2 Timothy 2:15 - Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Perverting the scriptures - Galatians 1:7 - Which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.

Adding his own teachings to the scriptures - Revelation 22:18-19 - For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Laying aside the commandment of God - Mark 7:9 - And He said to them, "All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.

Trusting other men above that which is written - 1 Corinthians 4:6 - Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other.

Going beyond the doctrine of Christ - 2 John 9 - Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.

Ever learning and never coming to a knowledge of the truth - 2 Timothy 3:7 - Always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Speaking perverse things to draw away disciples - Acts 20:30 - Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.

Turning his ears away from the truth - 2 Timothy 4:4 - And they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

Denominationalism Is Sinful!

1 Corinthians 1:10-13 - Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe's household, that there are contentions among you. Now I say this, that each of you says, "I am of Paul," or "I am of Apollos," or "I am of Cephas," or "I am of Christ." Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?

Matthew 15:13,14 - "But He answered and said, "Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. "Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch."

Matthew 15:9 - "And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' "

Acts 17:11 - "These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so."

"But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed." (Galatians 1:8,9)

THE WAY TO HEAVEN
Anyway We choose?

It is very popular to believe today that just as long as one is sincere, he can choose any way and go to heaven. This brings about the following:

What does God say about these ideas?

Matthew 7:13,14 - "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."

Proverbs 14:12 - "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death."

Matthew 7:21-23 - "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'"

Matthew 16:18 - "And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it."

Matthew 15:13 - "But He answered and said, "Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted."
